How to be Happy - Exercise number 1

Tantrums of thankfulness

One of the best ways to improve your level of happiness is to throw a tantrum of thankfulness.

Take a few minutes to think of as many things as you can that make you happy. Give thanks that these things are in you life.

Write them down if you can. Play the game with your children. See who can make the longest list in a certain time period.

If you are feeling sad in some compartment of your life, think of things in that compartment for which you can be thankful. Then, before you stop, think of things in other compartments that you are thankful for. While still in a state of thankfulness, go back to the compartment that is giving you trouble and think of at least one more thing in that compartment for which you are thankful.

Allow the fleeing of thankfulness to be fully expressed. Use your voice, you hands, you feet; your whole body if you can. Have fun with it. Jump up and down, wave your arms, yell, sing, smile or dance around.

Throwing a tantrum of thankfulness is guaranteed to make you feel happier. Give it a try with your kids.
